The days of cash or check are long gone. You want to make payment easy and convent for your clients. There are several payment processors available these are the ones that I use.
You can send embed a link in an email, send invoice or create buttons on websites.
Stripe has many of the same features. Stripe also integrates with several software programs and makes taking payments easy.
Venmo is an app on your phone. You can set up your bank account or credit card. There are no fees when you use a debit card or account balance.
